Following the expressions of interest in Dual Coding after Oliver Cavigoli’s presentation at the FZ Shared Inset, we have agreed to invite him back to run a twilight session on effective presentation of learning materials. This session will involve further input into the research behind dual coding, an opportunity for teachers to share, edit and receive feedback on their learning resources in the light of this work. Oliver’s work suggests there are two main reasons why learning resources aren’t always effective: the wrong choice of visual format and poor execution. He’ll address both of these issues and discuss how to create effective graphic organisers. (See attached)
The session will take place on the 27th January 4.00-5.45 at a AMSI. You may participate in the twilight regardless of whether you attended the Shared Inset Day.
